COMIC BOOK REVIEW - The Fury Of Firestorm: The Firestorm Protocols

When last we left Jason Rusch and Ronnie Raymond, the two young students who had been turned into ‘Firestorms’ were struggling to get on and more importantly were working as two separate heroes, rather than a single entity as we know Firestorm to be.
“The Firestorm Protocols” starts with Ronnie heading off to find out who is sending these rogue ‘Firestorms’ and he is eventually captured by a shady group of people. He is then saved by none other than Pozhar who is looking to capitalise on Ronnie’s powers. Meanwhile, Jason in attempting to locate Ronnie, makes some new friends of his own, including Firehawk (The Firestorm of France), Hurricane (The British Firestorm) and even the Justice League International. However, when Pozhar fuses with Ronnie, Jason realizes that it’s time to get his friend back.
The first Firestorm novel that I read, bored me indefinitely. This novel, on the other hand, was considerably better. Perhaps it was the involvement of several new characters, but the story seemed more exciting. I also feel there was a lot more character development of both the heroes.
The artwork was not bad, but not the best I’ve ever seen. The covers were a little better, and I liked this one of Hurricane, Firehawk and Jason. Overall, not a bad follow-up!
Favourite Panel:
Oh, this is nice. Represent and all.

Favourite Character:
I think it has to be Ronnie in this one. He grew a spine and actually did something about the people that he saw killed.
