COMIC BOOK REVIEW - All-New, All-Different Avengers: The Magnificent Seven
By The Masked Medic
Though it may not be universally accepted, the most iconic superhero team in the world at the moment is the healthcare service. Don’t forget them when this is over people. But for now, let’s focus on the team that everyone knows; The Avengers. The All-New and All-Different version of the team has a pretty interesting line-up!
‘The Magnificent Seven’ sees Iron Man, Vision, Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Jane Foster’s Thor join forces with Miles Morales, Ms Marvel and Nova to form a new version of the Avengers. Despite the age and inexperience of some of the younger members, they are thrust into danger quickly, when a mysterious threat from the future begins creating havoc in New York City. On top of that, it seems that not every single member of the Avengers may be what they seem to be, adding to the suspense.
I have to admit, I’m often wary when a team line-up diverges massively from the original, but these guys worked really well together. I also liked that they had alternate versions of classic Avengers such as Captain America and Thor. In terms of character development, there wasn’t much on an individual level but most certainly in terms of team development, there was lots!
The artwork was also pretty good, and some of the covers were drawn by the legendary Alex Ross. However, I liked this cover the best. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and am excited to read more!
This running joke was the best thing about this nove
So hard to pick one, but if I had to, it’d be Thor. So mysterious and so spontaneous!
