With this week’s revelation that Jamie Foxx would be returning as Electro in Spider-man 3 opposite Tom Holland, comic book fans everywhere went crazy in the hope that we could see a live-action Spider-verse film coming soon. Whilst we wait for that, I thought it was time to return to the comics, and back to Amazing Spider-man.
‘Worldwide Part 2′ is essentially a two-part story. The first part tells of how Martin Li is reverted back to his alter-ego, the villainous Mr Negative. As Parker Industries begins to invest in China, Negative wants to highlight the ‘true nature’ of one of Peter’s Chinese investors. The second half of the novel returns us to Zodiac and their scheming. As Scorpio’s goals begin to unravel, Spider-man must uncover just who his new nemesis is and how to prevent him from unleashing his master plan. Whilst all of this is going on, a mysterious someone is breaking out a certain criminal to reform one of the most villainous groups to ever have existed.
I have to admit this is probably one of my favourite Marvel comics that I’ve read. Spider-man as a comic book character is just so much better than any iteration we’ve seen on the big screen. The villains are also really good in this series, from the intriguing Mr Negative to the almost comedic members of Zodiac, this book contains all the elements needed for a memorable experience.
And to top the whole thing off, the artwork was ace. But nothing in this world is perfect, and unfortunately, I was not a fan of the covers. Their style is just not my favourite. Overall, however, I thought this was a good novel and I’m loving this series.

This panel just perfectly describes what I mean about Spider-man. The quips are everywhere.
