The New 52 was a great time for side characters. I mean look at the “Others”. They appeared in one Aquaman novel and then they got their own series. All jokes aside, it was nice to see that it’s not just the Trinity that gets multiple books.
‘Legacy of Gold’ is essentially a conglomeration of stories all put into one book, but the focus throughout remains constant. The “Relics of Atlantis”, each one owned by a different member of the team. These mystical relics, and more importantly the power that they hold become a target, first from the witch Morgaine Le Fay and consequently by “Legend”, an ancient character whose claim on the relics means that Aquaman and the Others have to fight to keep their prized possessions.
The book is not a boring novel to read in the slightest, and the constant action meant that I was always itching to find out what would happen. However, if you’re unaware of who the Others are, the book gives no backstories or indications as to the relationships between them, meaning that you feel a little behind.
The artwork was energetic in most parts and Ivan Reis and Rod Reis did the covers and you can tell because these are excellent covers. Overall, I enjoyed the novel, but I could understand how it might seem a little confusing!

Why is Aquaman always firing passive-aggressive shots?

The Operative. He’s a very no-nonsense badass.
