You know occasionally you come upon a novel that is just really really weird. Well, I did and it just has the wackiest plot. The concept of Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. is that Frankenstein works as a secret agent for an agency that is responsible for fighting the weird and wonderful threats to the world.
‘War of the Monsters’ essentially is a novel that is split into two stories. The first of these involves Frankenstein, being assigned a team of ‘monster’ agents who attempt to stop an invasion of Alien monsters coming to Earth through a wormhole at the bottom of a lake. The second story is about Frankenstein fighting O.M.A.C. and how Brother Eye who is the brain behind O.M.A.C. infiltrates S.H.A.D.E. to take over its computer system.
As far as entertainment goes, the novel wasn’t bad at all. Granted a lot of the time I was like, what is going on here, however, it was still a decent read. Given the nature of Frankenstein, he’s a really interesting character to read. The supporting cast was also pretty good.
In terms of the artwork, I thought that it was okay, but the covers were all of a really interesting style that intrigued me. Overall, this was an odd novel, but not altogether a bad one!
Favourite Panel:
Why does Aquaman get so much hate?
Favourite Character:
Frankenstein. He’s a badass and his inability to have a sense of humour is ironically funny.
