COMIC BOOK REVIEW - Green Lantern: Sinestro

The Green Lanterns on a whole seem to get a lot of comic books dedicated to their lore, and who can complain? The rich world of these intergalactic police forces has so much scope for thrilling and captivating stories.
This novel starts with Sinestro, the illustrious leader of the Yellow Lanterns, being inducted forcefully back into the Green Lantern Corps. He decides that in order to shut down his previous Corps, he needs the help of Hal Jordan, who due to being discharged, is no longer a lantern himself. Sinestro forges Jordan a ring from his own and together they go to Korugar, Sinestro’s home planet for a showdown with the Yellow Lanterns.
‘Sinestro’ deals with the growth and development of two characters. The first is the titular, Thaal Sinestro, and seeing his genuine regret that his own Corps is wreaking havoc on his homeland makes him question what his mission was. The novel also deals with Hal Jordan’s life away from Green Lantern and whether or not he finds himself able to deal with a normal life. Personally, I found both character stories excellent in terms of their personal development.
The artwork for ‘Sinestro’ was excellent, although the last issue which was done by Mark Choi as a guest issue was perhaps not my favourite style. The covers, however, were all really good, and in the variants, I found an Ivan Reis cover, which I chose above.

Despite the rivalry, you can really tell that Sinestro does have respect for Hal!
Favourite Character:
Hal Jordan. Easily. The man is proud, but he’s by far the most charismatic Green Lantern there ever was.
