COMIC BOOK REVIEW - Justice League/Power Rangers
By The Masked Medic
There come very few moments in popular culture when people from two different fandoms can come together to enjoy some form of media. However, when you’re a fan of both fandoms in a crossover, things get pretty out of hand. I remember when this novel was announced, I genuinely thought I was dreaming!
‘Justice League/Power Rangers’ starts off in the Power Rangers universe, where the Rangers find out that Alpha has gone missing. However, this is simply a ploy for Lord Zedd to get into the Command Centre. Following a fight with Zack, the Black Ranger, both he and Zack get transported to a new universe. Enter the Justice League who want to help the Rangers fight Zedd and get back. But Lord Zedd discovers a new ally in the DC universe, one who is extremely intent on collecting Angel Grove for his personal collection.
The plot in the novel I found was a bit basic, but given that this was more a Power Rangers story rather than a DC Comics story, that didn’t surprise me. There wasn’t much in terms of character development, but I can’t deny that it was a cool crossover.
The artwork was very simple and extremely cartoon-like which was completely appropriate for the novel. The covers were also pretty good, this one above is my favourite. Overall, a dream come true, is it too much to ask for another one?
Favourite Panel:
I mean he does have a valid point! Haha!
Favourite Character:
There were a lot to choose from, but Zack, the Black Power Ranger, I think was by far the most influential character in the novel.
