The latest news regarding the Power Rangers franchise is that they’ve found themselves an architect to create their new movie series which is going to be linked to the TV series in one continuity. As a fan of Power Rangers since the very beginning, I have to say I’m surprised it’s taken this long because this is one of the most lucrative properties in the nerd world.
‘Volume 3′ of the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers series sees our Rangers manage to morph using the powers of the Green Power Coin. Now that they have had the ability to take control back of their Zords, it seems that things are once again in their favour. But, the Black Dragon has one last trick up his sleeve and he grows big to fight them off. Billy, along with Tommy, realizes that the Black Dragon is one giant Zord himself and break into it. However, they’re transported to an Angel Grove that seems to be very different than the one they left, and Tommy comes face to face with someone that will change his life, and that of the other Rangers forever.
The good thing about these novels is that they actually tell a very compelling and exciting story. There was a decent amount of character development on Billy’s front in this novel, and this series does well to integrate each character’s importance into the team. My only issue with these novels is that they’re way too short like I want more immediately.
The artwork was really good and although there were different styles used in the novel, I still thought they worked really well. The covers were also pretty awesome! Overall, a good novel, this series continues to be one of my favourite comic book series ever!
Favourite Panel:
This interaction was awesome to see and highlighted the fact that these heroes are just kids trying to find their place in the World.
Favourite Character:
I think it has to be Billy in this novel. Given his insecurities, he actually is one of the best rangers ever!
