COMIC BOOK REVIEW - The Flash: Rogues Revolution

DC has always looked at the Flash as a character to reset the status quo of their novels and therefore he was the reason for the New 52. Coming back to Scarlet Speedster, when I last read the Flash series, Barry Allen was busy taking down an army of clones before being transported to Gorilla City.
‘Rogues Revolution’ sees Barry attempting to escape King Grodd and get back to Keystone City. However, when he gets back, he finds that life isn’t like what it was at all, and his once ally Dr Elias has turned against the Flash. On top of that, it seems that the Rogues used a machine which gave them all the metahuman powers that their weapons once possessed. But strange alliances are made and broken, and just when it seems that no-one knows what is going on, something far greater arrives from elsewhere.
I have to say, I found the beginning of the novel a little confusing and it was difficult to get my head around what was happening. However, once the Flash was back home and fighting the Rogues, everything felt right. I didn’t feel there was as much character development in this novel, compared to ‘Move Forward’.
The artwork was again sublime, with some of the issues being drawn by the sublime Francis Manapaul. His covers especially were really good. Overall, not a bad novel, but I’d like to see a bit more character development!

Ironically, I liked Captain Cold in this novel the most. I think for a villain he has a really interesting psyche.
