Of all the Marvel stories I have always found the X-men to be the most interesting characters in Marvel’s repertoire. Arguably the most famous X-man is Wolverine himself, his popularity catapulted by the flawless portrayal of Hugh Jackman as the invincible mutant.
‘Weapons of Mutant Destruction’ however, focuses on a group of invincible mutants. When a mysterious organization begins to target these mutants with the aim to take their DNA to create an army of invincible killer robots, Old Man Logan, teams up with Domino and Sabretooth to find who’s creating these droids. Along the way, the new Hulk, Amadeus Cho, also joins them. However, the robots have already acquired the DNA of Warpath and Lady Deathstrike, two formidable characters, already.
After the last novel I read, I was glad to read one that wasn’t so long. That being said, I really enjoyed this story and even if it had been a little bit longer, I wouldn’t have been averse to it. I particularly approved of the relationship between Logan, aka Wolverine and Victor, aka Sabretooth. Their dislike for each other balanced by the way they worked effectively together, was entertaining to read.
The artwork, in my opinion, was quite good and I liked many of the covers as well. Overall, I thought it was a really good novel, especially given that I wasn’t expecting it!
Favourite Panel:
This is what I meant about the jokes between these two!
Favourite Character:
This was actually quite difficult to choose and it may be a little unconventional, but Sabretooth was a very fun character to read!
